About Us

A HAND is a well known NGO working in the field of education, health and also general welfare of the people since 2003.This is a registered society (Reg. No.: S /IL/30007) under The West Bengal Societies Reg. Act XXVI of 1961 and patronized by eminent members from various walks of life in India, it pioneers to amend the core issue behind the backwardness and sufferings of a section of the society in West Bengal, specifically in the field of education and health.

A-HAND is committed to providing children with basic, quality and relevant education for their well being so that they can look towards a future built on a strong foundation. This will help them to make informed choices, resist oppression and claim their rights, besides opening new possibilities and opportunities for themselves. This is every child’s birthright and nothing else can compare to it.

A HAND also has its focused program in the field of Public Health and is aspired to establish Free Charitable Dispensaries with free distribution of medicines for poor in different districts of West Bengal. 

Thus established, A-HAND is a trans-sectional Humanitarian Development Organization.

A-HAND’s development ideology “Educate the child, and build a better Society” is reflective of realistic translation of its mission.
